2022年聖誕節期間接獲敦煌藝術中心的個展邀約，心情猶如喜獲天上掉下來的聖誕禮物般歡樂。滿懷感恩之際，正思索著如何以新的土塑燒作品來迎接這段新旅程，奇妙的事是，有一首詩歌《輕輕聽》竟然不時地出現在耳邊，持續了好一陣子。我在心中禱告尋求後決定以「傾聽」相關主題來詮釋這次個展作品，新作包含：大地的呼喚、擁抱樹林、聽濤、聽雲、我有一雙大耳朵、共諎生命樂章……等。

創作過程中與土的互動和體驗特別豐富，情境好比「土中作畫」般有趣。創作者需要時間表來完成手作，在雕與塑之間、何時添加何時修減卻一點也急不得；泥土的表現十分有個性，時間/濕度/溫度的變化皆需有耐性和細心觀察與調整，與之同作工才能順利完成。

這次個展的表現嚐試突破繪本框架，透過領受以主題呈現，願陪伴大家進入大自然的懷抱，用心傾聽天地之間的微小聲音。你和我雖然大不同，卻享有同樣來自天地之間的愛和資源，願我們都能彼此接納，相互支持，心中常常有喜樂。

The joyful feeling was just like receiving the special gift from God when Caves Art Center delivering the message of solo exhibition invitation last Christmas holiday. It is an honour in particular, to a person like me, just retired and seeking for third life. When I think of how to present the new works to meet this new journey, what an amazing thing, the song ‘Listen Quietly’ came to mind and lasted for a while. After many times of praying and seeking, the decision was clear to portray this exhibition around the subject of “listening”. The new works contain ‘Call of the Earth’, ‘Embrace Forest’, ‘Seed Forest’, ‘Hearing Sound of Wave’, ‘Whispers of the Clouds’, ‘I Have Big Ears’, ‘Ensemble of Life’….and so forth.

The interaction and experience with clay is abundant during the entire process of creation, that situation is interesting like ‘painting on the clay’. The creator needs time to sculpt and work with hands, there is no rush between carving and sculpture. One needs to listen to clay and observe when to add, when to subtract or to modify. The performance of clay varies individually. The changes of time, humidity and temperature all require patience and careful observation. Cooperation with clay can then be successfully completed.

The perimeter of this solo exhibition tries to break through the framework of illustrations, may all can embrace nature. This show hopes to accompany you into nature and listen carefully that is being whispered between heaven and earth. Although you and I are very different, we still share the same love and resources from heaven and earth. May we accept each other, support each other and always rejoice in our hearts.
